This is one of my favorite places to eat Chinese food. They have a lot of gluten free options. The taste far surpasses anything else in the Austin area. Service is wonderful and the owners treat you like family. Sadly they are going out of business at the end of the year so hurry up and visit them to get your fix of some of the best Chinese!

We ordered two gluten free dishes- crispy chicken and house lamb. Both were great! I rarely get to eat at restaurants without asking a ton of questions about the ingredients, the extensive specialized menu was SO appreciated. The food was very good even after getting it home. We had two additional unexpected people join us for the meal and everyone got their fill! The restaurant had one woman working the kitchen and also handling payments, which seemed pretty strenuous, but she was great!

This is the only Chinese restaurant i go to. Nothing else comes close. I don’t know what they do, but every single meal is fantastic. I highly recommend the cold noodle and onion pancake appetizers and I love the tofu fried rice. My husband likes many of their dishes. Be forewarned: when it says it had five chilis, it will set you hair on fire. People start sneezing and sweat pours down their face. Don’t take their pepper warnings lightly. They mean it.

This is the Chinese restaurant you are looking for! I am quite picky picky about Chinese food. I've spent many years in New York City where that food can be amazing. I've been disappointed since leaving there. I believe this is a family owned business. We were greeting promptly by a very friendly and polite young man who did all the serving. I ordered the hot a sour soup and lamb with onions. My wife had chicken fried rice. All of the dishes were exploding with flavor, in the best possible manner. I always get hot and sour soup. This was the best I've had. The flavors were rich and more complex than any previous verrsions I had. The lamb was extremely tender and tasty and the sauce was very aromatic and delicious. My wife is gluten free so she could not have any what I ordered but was entranced by the smells. I had a spoonful of her chicken fried rice. The chicken was moist and tender, not dried out at all. The sauce and other ingredients worked together like magic. The soups come in either 16 or 32 ounce bowls. The main course portions were huge. I am estimating the amount we did not eat at the restaurant will make 4 more meals. This was my 1st visit to Sichuan Garden, but

2/2026 clean and quiet locally owned Chinese restaurant with a huge menu and great food. You can tell when your food is individually prepared versus being spooned out of a large vat that's been sitting around a while, and this place makes yours fresh just for you. Plus your money is going to real local owners who work hard and reinvest locally, not to big corporate profiteering.
